Missions
Much to my astonishment, I've worked at the Vida Nueva mission in Piedras Negras, Coahuila, Mexico, for one week each of the past three years. I've documented the experience each year:
2004: From the files of the kaputt Web site of North Liberty Christian Church. Others took the photos and I wrote the words on behalf of the North Liberty crew. I worked on a crew that applied stucco to a house being built for a member of the church whose house was destroyed in a flood.
2005: I got to learn some carpentry as my crew built bookshelves and desks for the mission's preschool.
2006: I set up some donated computers in the mission's preschool and clinic. I was thrilled to do something I knew how to do well!
